Building log - Dragonus II PRO:
Day 1 (two hours): Rotor head, swashplate, tail box.
Day 2 (one hour): Frame
Day 3 (two hours): General assembly: gear, tail, rotor, main gear, belt adjust.
Day 4 (one hour): CCPM servo setup, motor soldering, ESC connectors, motor test (original ESC-Motor cable coloring makes the motor to spin backwards. Easy fix: connect red with yellow and yellow with red to make the motor spin in the correct direction.
Day 5 (one hour): Tail servo install, motor install. (don't forget to loctite the motor pinion).
Day 6 (one and a half hour): Servo horns setup.
Day 7 (three hours): Horns install, links measurement, CCPM radio setup, tail calibration, gyro, main blades, cable routing, check CG, ready.
Day 8: Maiden flight. One hell of machine.
Recommendations:
- Threadlock ALL the screws that are against metal. No exceptions, please.
- Threadlock the motor pinion in the inside.
- Start with the canopy holders before assembling the main frame. Otherwise it will be too difficult to install the canopy holders.
- Don't follow the manual when installing the landing skids base plate. First, attach the landing skids to that plate, and then assemble that to the fuselage.
- The belt should be tense, but not too much. Next to the red pulleys, press gently the two belts against each other using a screwdriver: You should feel the resistance from tension, but you should also be able to touch each other without stressing too much.
- Watch the servo horns. They should not touch the frames.
- The canopy should not touch any link. If it happens, dremel your canopy to provide enough space.
- Check everything before each flight. Look for loose links or loose screws.
